
The work begins. We had to replace all the ribs but one, the top 20" of planking, and most of the house. As progress continued, we found the stem and part of the keelson needed replacing as well. Jerry restored or rebuilt all the top side rails and woodwork. After her hull was sound and the topsides were brought to bristal fashion, Jerry and his son started to design and build an interior that kept true to the Junk's heritage (lots of bamboo and hard woods were used).
